What a Difference a Day Makes

Yesterday we had a big storm with 60 mph winds. Today the sun is shining and the ocean is calm.

Autumn Hike III

Yesterday we took a hike along the Mississippi with Dan and Anna and the boys. Have you ever tried to take a posed picture that included two boys under five years old? We saw a man rowing down the river, and we played in the leaves when we got back home.

Autumn Hike II

On Tuesday we hiked in Nerstrand State Park, home to some of the last remnants of "The Big Woods" in Minnesota. We visited Hidden Falls and marveled at the views of the deep blue sky through the tall trees with their golden leaves.

Last weekend we had a great hike in William O'Brien State Park on the St. Croix River. We saw a beaver lodge and had great views of the river.

September Morning Drop-off

We enjoyed our walks to Takoma Park School where Abby is starting first grade.

Later on Sunday we enjoyed a barbecue at Dan and Anna's. Abby found a favorite chair, and Silas showed Dee Dee how trains work.

We spent a few happy hours on a rainy Sunday at the train museum. Nate is a very attentive and expressive engineer.
