It was a beautiful afternoon, and we couldn't resist the self-guided tour of the lock and dam just downstream from our apartment.

On Friday afternoon Nate built with Legos and we all enjoyed a trip the the library.

On the way back from lunch at Sea Salt, we stopped at yet another wonderful playground.

Silas has a new trike.

Mini Golf!

On September 1st we had a great time playing mini golf with Walter at the Walker Art Center. Each hole was designed by a different artist.

Shadow Falls

On Sunday we went upriver to Shadow Falls. We had great views up and down the Mississippi, and this waterfall is a beauty.

These two parks were set aside in the late 19th Century to preserve the beautiful scenery along this stretch of the Mississippi. We are lucky to be living between the two parks.

Hidden Falls

On Saturday we walked a short way down the river to Hidden Falls park. The trees along the river are well adapted to the annual floods .. and the falls are just a trickle at this time of year.

The sun is slowly moving south. We are enjoying a beautiful evening on our balcony.

Cascade Head

We enjoyed our hike to these beautiful views at Cascade Head just north of Lincoln City.

Sunsets

The sunsets have been beautiful ... complete with running dinosaur clouds and a planet setting with the almost new moon.

Monkey Rings

Walter and Jane were both excited when Walter made it across the entire set of monkey rings without touching the ground.

We are relaxing on the balcony after a fun evening with Silas, Walter and Anna.

Packing the Pod

Today we loaded our things for Oregon in the container where they will be stored and eventually transported west. We added more things after the second picture, but we still have some room if something we took to the apartment here in St. Paul doesn't fit. Moving is complicated.

Last Dinner at 940 Edgewater Avenue

We enjoyed a beautiful evening on the patio for our last dinner on Edgewater Avenue. Many happy memories ... many new adventures to come.
