A Day in Eugene with Dee Dee

Our day with Dee Dee included a sunny walk down Broadway for lunch at Davis and a stop at the the Red Wagon Creamery for dessert. Back at Dee Dee's apartment we all enjoyed reading and listening to poems by Shel Silverstein.

Flashback to Silas' Half Birthday

Silas was three and a half on June 23rd and celebrated with friends and a fun bounce house! Octonauts and an ice cream cake were important elements, too.

Cascade Head

On July 10 we hiked up to Cascade Head. We started out in old growth forest and then emerged onto the headland meadow. The views were spectacular. We'll close this post with a map of our hike.

WhalePointe

We arrived at WhalePointe in Depoe Bay on July 8. The seagulls decorated our windows shortly after we arrived.

Browder Ridge - View from the Top

The viewpoint at the top of the trail gave us a great view of the Three Sisters, Three Fingered Jack, Mount Washington, and Mount Jefferson. If we stood in the right place we also could see Mount Hood.

Browder Ridge Trail

On Thursday we drove up the Santiam for a hike on the Browder Ridge Trail. The hike started out with a steep climb through old growth forest.
